In Jharkhand’s illegal mining scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided several locations in Ranchi. According to the information, the ED team has reached about 17 locations in Jharkhand and Bihar together in connection with this scam. The search operation is going on here.
If sources are to be believed, the central agency has raided several places here after questioning Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s MLA representative Pankaj Mishra in connection with illegal mining and extortion. The news is coming that the places raided by the ED are related to a person named Prem Prakash. It is being said that Prem Prakash has strong ties with politicians.
Pankaj Mishra was arrested on July 19:
On July 8, the ED had conducted searches at 19 locations linked to Pankaj Mishra and his associates at Sahebganj, Barhait, Rajmahal and Mirza post. Since then, the ED had called him to join the probe, but he did not turn up twice citing ill health. After this, the ED arrested Mishra on July 19 in a money laundering case.
Income of Rs 100 crore also detected:
The ED said that the proceeds of crime arising out of illegal mining of Rs 100 crore have also been traced and work is on. Earlier in the month of May, the federal agency conducted searches under PMLA at 36 places related to MGNREGA scam after which Rs 19.76 crore in cash was seized. It also included the premises of IAS Pooja Singhal and her associates.
In this case also, the ED said that the evidence collected during the investigation, including the evidence collected after searches and statements of various persons, showed that the bulk of the seized cash was received from illegal mining and was obtained from senior bureaucrats and politicians. was related.
