The US military killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, the top leader of the global terrorist organization Al Qaeda, in a drone strike in Kabul. Zawahiri, along with al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, plotted the horrific terrorist attack (9/11) on the United States on September 11, 2001. The US killed Osama in Pakistan in 2011. Zawahiri’s death was confirmed by President Joe Biden. He said ‘justice done” (Justice delivered).
In a video message, Biden said the airstrike was carried out in Kabul, Afghanistan, on his instructions. Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed. Like Osama, Zawahiri was also hiding in a house. Osama was killed by US special military commandos in a house in Pakistan.
