- West Indies struggled to win even when it was chasing just 138. A tougher ask may be too much for it.
WI vs IND Analysis:
There are less than 24 hours in between the second and third T20 international, especially after the three-hour delay that baggage transport caused! West Indies won the second match convincingly and the series is now 1-1. The conditions in St. Kitts are markedly different than what we saw in Trinidad and it is clear that West Indies will be a much bigger threat here.
The cricket betting sites still have West Indies as the clear favorite heading into this match. Is that something you can take advantage of or should you stick to the favorites?

Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The weather forecast for match day is excellent and we are not looking at any major interruptions. The pitch was bouncy, had a decent amount of pace in it, and favored the batters. The boundaries are also quite short and this is why it was surprising to see that the average total here is just about 130.
Both teams will be aiming far higher than that and we think something around 170 is the least that they will be satisfied with. A lot of sixes to be hit and the spinners can be tricky to get hold of with the win howling in one direction.
Team Preview:
West Indies (WI):
West Indies was propelled by a brilliant bowling effort from Obed McCoy who ended up with 6 for 17 to decimate the Indian batting. His figures were the best ever for a West Indian and the best ever by any player against India in T20 internationals.
His wickets allowed Alzarri Joseph to recover after a tough start and compensated for the lack of wicket-taking ability from Odean Smith and Jason Holder. In short, McCoy’s bowling effort coupled with Akeal Hosein papered over some of the cracks that are visible in the West Indian bowling lineup.
Also, even though West Indies was playing with an additional batter in this match and was chasing a small total, the batting lineup did not really perform well. West Indies was behind the Indians in an over to over comparison till the 18th Over of the inning.
The middle order struggled for runs and only Brandon King seemed to be batting with some sort of fluency.
On a small ground where there were a lot of sixes to be hit, West Indies managed just five.
West Indies may have won the previous match but we are not convinced about its lineup just yet.

India (IND):
India has spoken about being positive in all situations even when wickets are falling and how that is going to backfire on some occasions. The previous match was one of those as India was bowled out for just 138. We don’t think there was anything particularly wrong with the manner in which approached the match but just that they came up against a bowler in great form.
Another left-arm fast bowler dismantling their top order is not going to unnoticed around the world, though.
Will this result prompt a change in the selection for the third match? It is difficult to say but we think more or less the same team is going to turn up for this next match. If anything, there is a case to be made to bring Harshal Patel into the lineup instead of Avesh Khan, who looked easily the most hittable of all the bowlers.
India’s batting lineup is also not quite where it should be. SKY is playing out of position and whether it makes sense to sacrifice your best T20 player for no apparent reason is only something that the Indian think tank can answer.
Also, not having Deepak Hooda in the batting lineup is surely not justifiable any longer either! Hooda to open the batting (as he did in Ireland) and SKY back at three is an easy switch that India can make if they leave Iyer out of the lineup.
India played just about as badly as it could in the previous match and still pushed the West Indies very close. We think they will once again dominate if they can just get a few small things right.
