0 Jim Sarbh: Jim’s career shines as ‘Malik Kafoor’ in ‘Padmavat’, has made his own identity by playing small roles in films


Jim Sarbh is one such actor who breathes life into even a small character. Jim’s role may not be small, but with his strong acting, he makes that role so big that his role of a few minutes settles in the hearts and minds of the public. Be it the character of Malik Kafur in ‘Padmavat’ or the terrorist Khaleel in ‘Neerja’, Jim Sarbh has managed to leave a different mark with each of his characters. Sometimes he is seen overshadowing the lead actor as well. Today i.e. on 27th August the actor is celebrating his 35th birthday. On this special day, we are going to tell you some things related to his life.

Jim Sarbh was born on 27 August 1987 in a Parsi family in Mumbai. His mother is a retired physiotherapist and father is a former master mariner. When Jim Sarbh was three years old, his family shifted to Australia. After living in Australia for five years, he came back to India and completed his schooling from Mumbai. After this, he went to Emory University in America for graduation. During his studies, he started working in a theater in America. In 2008, he came back to Mumbai and became part of a local theater group here.

Jim Sarbh’s debut in Bollywood was with Ram Madhvani’s film ‘Neerja’ in 2016. The film, based on the life of airhostess Neerja Bhanot, featured Sonam Kapoor in the lead role and Jim played the dreaded terrorist Khaleel. His performance in this film was highly appreciated and he also won many awards. After this Jim appeared in ‘A Death in the Goonj’ and ‘Raabta’ in 2017. He also became a part of many short films.

In 2018, the film ‘Padmavat’ shone the fortunes of Jim Sarbh and he got a different identity. Jim played the role of Malik Kafur in this film. He played this character so well that he also got a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. But do you know how he got the character of Malik Kafur. Actually, it was Ranveer Singh who recommended the gym to Sanjay Leela Bhansali after watching ‘Neerja’. Jim was then cast for the film. At the same time, Jim has also appeared in ‘Sanju’, ‘The Wedding Guest’, ‘Photograph’ and ‘House Arrest’. Apart from this, he has also been a part of web shows ‘Made in Heaven’, Smoke and Flip.
