Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the flag for the ninth time from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 76th Independence Day. After this he addressed the country. He wished the countrymen a Happy Independence Day.

The Prime Minister said, not only in every corner of India, but in every corner of the world, today in some form or the other by Indians or in every corner of the world who have immense love for India, this tricolor is being hoisted with pride.
There was no corner, no period in India, when the countrymen had not fought for hundreds of years against slavery, had not spent their lives, had not suffered tortures, had not made sacrifices. The Prime Minister said, there is an opportunity for the countrymen to bow to every such great man, every tyrant and sacrificer. Today’s day is historic.
He said, this is an auspicious occasion to step forward with a virtuous stage, a new path, a new resolve and a new strength. PM said, this country is indebted to such countless revolutionaries like Mangal Pandey, Tatya Tope, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrashekhar Azad, Asfaq Ulla Khan, Ram Prasad Bismil, who shook the foundation of British rule.
India the mother of democracy:
Prime Minister Modi said, India is the mother of democracy. Mother of Democracy. Those who have democracy in their mind, when they walk with determination, then their power brings a time of crisis for the big sultanates of the world.
Take five vows for 2047:
Prime Minister Modi said, when we complete 100 years of the country’s independence in 2047, then let us take a pledge to fulfill all the dreams of our freedom fighters. He said, the next 25 years are very important for the country. We have to focus on the power of Pancha Prana. These are the five vows-
- Developed India
- Freedom from Slavery
- Proud of Heritage
- Unity and Solidarity
- Duties of Citizens
