Indore is progressing rapidly in the direction of becoming a major IT hub as a result of the resources, facilities and conducive environment being provided by the state government to encourage investment in the field of IT.
This pace of development has not had any more adverse effect than the lockdown during Corona. In the direction of becoming a major IT hub, Indore has achieved a great success with the remarkable work done in the years 2020-21 and 2021-22.
General Manager Madhya Pradesh Electronic Development Corporation Dwarkesh Saraf informed that Indore has taken a big leap in development during the lockdown with massive employment growth from ten thousand IT/ITES professionals in Indore to 40 thousand 500.
Indore has achieved many milestones in its journey of self-reliant India and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh. In order to make Indore the birthplace of many big startups, Simhasa IT Park has been built as a startup hub.
Almost all the land of this IT Park has been allotted to IT. Soon this western region of Indore will emerge as a big IT hub.
MNCs will open offices in Indore:
IT exports worth Rs 1,161 crore from 4 SEZ units in Indore have registered a growth of 51 percent year-on-year in the financial year 2020-21. For the period of financial year 2021-22, a growth of 51.64 percent has been registered in IT exports worth Rs. one thousand 761 crores.
During the financial year 2020-21, IT exports from non-SEZs from units registered with STPI stood at Rs 873.17 crore. There has been a capital investment of more than Rs 800 crore by IT/ITES companies in Indore.
IT / ITeS companies have been given an incentive of Rs 7 crore 62 lakh in the financial year 2021-22 and Rs 11 crore 58 lakh in the financial year 2020-21 despite the lockdown.
A total incentive of about Rs 40 crore has been given since April 2014. This helped them to bridge the capital issues during the lockdown. 100 acres have already been allotted out of 112 acres in Simhasa IT Park Indore.
Many domestic and international companies are keen to be a part of the growth story of Madhya Pradesh. Soon many multinational companies will open their workplace in Indore.
Electricity at cheap rates and abundance of skilled and skilled youth attract companies to Indore. This is a golden opportunity for TEIR-2 cities like Indore to become the IT/ITES hub of Central India.
