0 IRE vs IND: India beat Ireland by 7 wickets, take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series

India defeated Ireland by seven wickets in the first match of the two-match T20I series. The match started after about two and a half hours due to rain. The umpires cut the overs and made the match 12-12 overs. Batting first, Ireland scored 108 runs for the loss of four wickets in 12 overs. Harry Tector scored an unbeaten 64 while batting brilliantly.

In reply, the Indian team won the match by scoring 111 runs for three wickets in 9.2 overs. Deepak Hooda remained unbeaten on 47 runs off 29 balls and Dinesh Karthik scored 5 runs off 4 balls. With this win, Team India has taken an unassailable 1-0 lead against Ireland. The next match of the series will be played on Tuesday.

Ireland’s innings:

Electing to bat after losing the toss, Ireland’s team did not have a good start. The team had lost two wickets in the first two overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar clean bowled captain Andrew Balbirnie in the very first over. Balbirnie got out for zero.

After this, Indian captain Hardik Pandya got Paul Stirling caught by Deepak Hooda in the second over. Sterling could score four runs. After this, in the fifth over, Gareth Delany was caught by wicketkeeper Karthik by Avesh Khan. Delaney could score eight runs. Ireland lost three wickets for 22 runs.

Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker then took over Ireland’s innings and shared a 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket off 29 balls. Yuzvendra Chahal got Tucker caught by Axar Patel. Tucker could score 18 runs off 16 balls. He hit two sixes in his innings. At the same time, Harry Tector scored the third half-century of his T20 International career in the first 30 balls.

He scored a lot of runs in the last overs. Harry Tector remained unbeaten on 64 off 33 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Apart from this, George Dockrell also remained unbeaten on four runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik, Avesh and Chahal got one wicket each for India. Ireland scored 52 runs in the last five overs and lost just one wicket.

India’s innings:

Chasing the target of 109 runs, the Indian team started well. India got the first blow on the total score of 30 runs. Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 26 runs in 11 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. After this, Suryakumar Yadav, playing an international match after a long time, lost the wicket to Craig Young on the very first ball.

Surya was out albw without opening the account. After this, captain Hardik Pandya along with Deepak Hooda played a partnership of 64 runs for the third wicket with Hardik. Hardik was dismissed after scoring 24 runs in 12 balls.

After this, Deepak Hooda along with Dinesh Karthik led Team India to victory. Hooda could not score a half-century and remained unbeaten on 47 runs off 29 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Karthik remained unbeaten on five runs with the help of a four. In this way Team India won by seven wickets.
