The Union Home Ministry has written in its tweet that ‘Agneepath Yojana’ is a visionary and welcome decision of PM Modi for the bright future of the youth. In this context, today the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to give priority to Agniveers who have completed four years under this scheme in the recruitment of CAPFs and Assam Rifles.
The Union Home Ministry has written in another tweet that with this decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs under the guidance of PM Modi, the youth trained by ‘Agneepath Yojana’ will be able to contribute in the service and security of the country even further. Detailed planning work has started on this decision.
what’s the plan?
Under the ‘Agneepath Recruitment Scheme’, the youth will get an opportunity to join the army for a period of four years. Young boys and girls in the age group of 17 and a half years to 21 years will be eligible for this. For this, students from class 10th to 12th can apply. It will start within 90 days. This year 46 thousand Agniveers will be recruited. In the first recruitment process, the youth will be given six months training. The time of training will also be covered in four years.
What is retirement package?
Every Agniveer will get 30 thousand months salary in the year of recruitment. Out of this, 70 percent i.e. 21 thousand rupees will be given to him. The remaining 30 percent i.e. nine thousand rupees will be deposited in the Agniveer Corps Fund. The government will also put the same amount in this fund. Agniveer’s salary will increase to 33 thousand in the second year, 36.5 thousand in the third year and 40 thousand rupees in the fourth year.
His total savings in four years would be around Rs 5.02 lakh. At the same time, the same amount will be deposited by the government. After completion of the job, he will get this amount along with interest. Which will be around Rs 11.71 lakh. This amount will be tax free.
There is also a provision of financial assistance in case of martyrdom or disability during service. If any Agniveer dies during the service of the country, then an amount of more than one crore including service fund will be given along with interest. Apart from this, the salary of the remaining job will also be given. If a soldier becomes disabled while on duty, then he will be given an amount of up to Rs 44 lakh and salary for the remaining job will also be given. After four years of service, the youth will be given a service fund package. Which will be Rs 11.71 lakh.
Will the army recruitments happening now stop after this scheme?
he new scheme has been brought in place of the existing open recruitment. At present, apart from General Duty, there is open recruitment for the posts like Clerk, Store Keeper, Tradesman, Nursing Assistant. The youths selected in this serve in the army for about 17 and a half years.
They also get pension after the end of service. Now these posts will be recruited for only four years. These Agniveers will not get any pension. After the end of the service, they will get a lump sum amount only.
What will happen to Agniveer after four years of service?
After four years of service, 75 per cent of the jawans will lose their services. Maximum 25% will get a place in the regular cadre. For this, after the completion of the service, one has to apply for the regular cadre on a voluntary basis.
What will happen to the jawans who will be decommissioned after four years?
The jawans who will be released from service will get preference in the Armed Forces and other government jobs. During the press conference, the Defense Minister said that Agniveer, who has served for four years, will be given priority in the upcoming jobs in several state and central ministries.
After the announcement of the Defense Minister, such announcements have also started from the states. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Agniveer jawans will be given priority in recruitment in Madhya Pradesh Police.
What will change for the soldier joining the army after the new scheme?
The process of recruitment in the new scheme will remain the same as before. After getting selected, there will be six months of rigorous training. After that the deployment will take place. With the new scheme, youth will get more opportunities in the army. The average age of the army at present is 32 years. After the implementation of the scheme, it will come down to 24 to 26 years in the next six to seven years.
