The biggest reason for these smiles is the actors working in the show and one of these artists was Nattu Kaka, who worked at Jethalal’s shop. Started in the world of acting in 1960:
Born on 12 May 1944 in Undai village of Gujarat, Ghanshyam Nayak started his acting journey as a child artist with the 1960 film ‘Masoom’. Ghanshyam, son of Gujarati music director Ranglal Nayak, had raised his prestige by stepping into Bollywood at the age of just seven. After this Ghanshyam also worked in theater but his journey till becoming ‘Nattu Kaka’ was not easy.
After working hard for the whole day, there was so much earning-
In those days Ghanshyam Nayak did not get money according to his hard work even after working full day. He used to earn only three rupees even after giving 24-24 hours of his life. Due to getting such a low salary, Nattu Kaka, who always made us laugh, had to face many problems. Had to spread his hand in front of his friends for some money.
Have worked with big artists:
You will be surprised to know that Ghanshyam Nayak has worked with many artists before becoming Nattu Kaka. But his character of Bhavai in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ is still people’s favorite character.
He played the role of Bhavai actor in this film opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It is worth mentioning that Ghanshyam Nayak used to sing along with acting.
He sang in more than 12 Gujarati films with Asha Bhosle and Mahendra Kapoor. Apart from this, Ghanshyam also worked in more than 100 Gujarati stage plays and had also dubbed in about 350 Gujarati films.
Nattu Kaka has earned so much wealth:
Ghanshyam Nayak, who once had a penchant for pie, got the role of Nattu Kaka because of his hard work. According to reports, he used to get around 30 thousand rupees per episode for playing this role.
He believed that it was only after he started working in the show that there was stability in his life and a fixed source of his income became. After getting this character, he never looked back. Ghanshyam, who once lived in a rented house, was the owner of two houses at the last moment.
At the last moment ‘Nattu Kaka’ role also cheated:
At the time when the whole world was troubled by an epidemic like Corona, at that time the explosion of Corona was also happening in Mumbai city of Maharashtra state of the country. Due to the lockdown imposed to stop it, the shooting of the serial had to be stopped.
However, when the shooting started, orders were issued not to invite the aged actors on the sets. Due to this reason Nattu Kaka aka Ghanshyam Nayak was also not able to work in the show. He was very sad at this time.
Nattu Kaka succumbed to cancer:
The reason for staying away from the show was Corona as well as his illness. He was battling cancer in his last days and due to this he had to undergo several surgeries. Ghanshyam was on leave for the entire 9 months. From March 16 to December 16, he was away from the show and acting. At the last moment, he even stopped recognizing himself.
Ghanshyam Nayak’s last wish was to take his last breath while shooting for ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. And this happened after his death on 3 October 2021. After his death, his family members got his make-up done and he had said goodbye to this world by becoming Nattu Kaka.
