The US Agency for International Development and UNICEF launched the Doordarshan and YouTube series ‘Door Se Namaste’ at a function in New Delhi today. Door Se Namaste is a new television series that promotes healthy behavior in a post-pandemic world.
It is a fictional Hindi series developed in an entertainment education format that highlights the challenges of a post-pandemic world and promotes the adoption of healthy behaviors and practices. The program will be telecast every Sunday from 11 am to 12 noon.
On this occasion, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Neerja Shekhar said that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan and All India Radio are the major channels through which the Government of India reaches out to the people to spread information about its policies.
He informed that Doordarshan has 25 channels and All India Radio has more than 400 radio stations. He said, during the COVID pandemic, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of AYUSH came out with their own protocols to deal with the pandemic and a fact checking unit was also set up to weed out fake information.
He pointed out that the entire communication system was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he is the prime communicator and people listened whenever he spoke during the entire COVID period.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health, Roli Singh said that the government has left no stone unturned to spread the message of COVID appropriate behavior by using all kinds of channels.
Mayank Agarwal, CEO, Prasar Bharati said that Doordarshan is committed to spreading information and messages for the welfare of the people. He said, this new series is very good in taking the message of healthy behavior to the people.
