0 Mogadishu Hotel Attack: 30 killed in 30 hours in Somalia, Hotel Hyatt situation under control, terrorists killed

The action of security forces has ended in the terrorist attack on Friday night at the famous Hyatt Hotel in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu. The hotel was completely taken over by Somali security forces about 30 hours after the attack.

At the same time, no information has been revealed about how many terrorists have been killed in this action. At the same time, the Somalia government will hold a press conference about this on Sunday morning.

At least 30 people were killed and 40 injured in this encounter with terrorists. The terrorists killed people by firing indiscriminately like the Mumbai attack and had taken many people hostage. Dozens were killed and wounded in a gun and bomb attack by al-Qaeda-linked militants on the Hyatt Hotel on Friday evening, according to Somali officials.

Al-Shabaab faction linked to al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the attack:

A fierce encounter took place between the security forces and the terrorists. The al-Shabaab group affiliated with the terrorist organization al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attackers detonated bombs in two cars and also opened indiscriminate fire. One car hit the barrier near the hotel and the other hit the hotel gate. There was panic among the people due to the loud blasts in both the cars.

The attackers also fired indiscriminately. Most of the dead are civilians. Several explosions were also heard inside the hotel. According to eyewitnesses, security forces have rescued several people, including children. According to police, the gunmen exploded outside the hotel building before entering it.

“The gunmen took many people hostage on the second floor of the hotel and used them as shields to prevent heavy weapons from being used on them,” intelligence officer Mohammad said. Plumes of smoke were seen from the blasts late Friday and gunshots were heard in the capital till Saturday night. A large part of the hotel has been destroyed in this battle.

Strongly condemning the terrorist attack by Al-Shabaab on the Hyatt Hotel in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, India has expressed deep condolences to the families of the casualties. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet, India stands with the government and people of Somalia in the fight against terrorism.
