The Indian team is on a tour of Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI series. Both the teams will play the first ODI on Thursday (August 18) at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. In this series, many players including Team India’s experienced batsman Shikhar Dhawan and captain KL Rahul are eyeing the record. Dhawan has a chance to leave behind legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
All three matches of the series will be played in Harare. Dhawan has so far scored 168 runs in three innings at this ground. 116 runs is his highest score. He has scored runs at an average of 56. Dhawan has a chance to become the highest run-scorer in Harare.
For this, he will have to score a total of 202 runs in three ODIs. At present, this record is in the name of Ambati Rayudu. He has scored 369 runs in seven innings. Rayudu has an average of 123. He has scored one century and two half-centuries.
Rahul ahead of Dhawan:
Dhawan alone will not have a chance to leave Rayudu behind. KL Rahul is ahead of him. Rahul has scored 196 runs in three innings. He needs to score 174 runs to get ahead of Rayudu. In this series, both India’s openers Rahul and Dhawan have an interesting match to see who becomes the highest run-scorer in Harare.
Highest run scorer in Harare:
Players can achieve these achievements during the India-Zimbabwe series:
- KL Rahul will complete 100 catches in international cricket as soon as he takes seven catches in the series.
- If Shikhar Dhawan scores 433 runs, then his 11,000 runs in international cricket will be completed.
- If KL Rahul makes 366 runs, then his two thousand runs in ODIs will be completed.
- If Ryan Burle of Zimbabwe takes five wickets, then he will have 50 wickets in international cricket.
- Sikandar Raza needs 290 runs to complete 6000 international runs.
