India defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in the three-match series. He won the third and last match of the series played on Monday (August 22) by 13 runs. Batting first in Harare, the Indian team scored 289 for nine in 50 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe’s team was reduced to 276 runs in 49.3 overs.
India has eliminated Zimbabwe for the sixth time in an ODI series. India has not lost a bilateral series against Zimbabwe since 1997. During this, he has won seven consecutive series in his name. Shubman Gill was the hero in the third match for India.
He scored 130 runs as well as took the decisive catch of Sikandar Raza. Raza scored 115 runs off 95 balls. He was on his way to give Zimbabwe a win in the match when Gill ended his innings with a brilliant catch at the boundary.
Rahul-Dhawan out after a good start:
Batting first after winning the toss, the Indian team got off to a good start. Thanks to Shikhar Dhawan’s 40 and captain Rahul’s 30, India added 63 runs for the first wicket. However, after Rahul, Dhawan was also dismissed early and Team India was struggling after losing two wickets for 84 runs in 21 overs.
Gill and Ishaan made century partnership:
After this, Shubman Gill and Ishaan Kishan took over the innings. Both shared a 140-run partnership and took India’s score to 224. Ishan Kishan got out after scoring 50 runs in the 43rd over. Shubman Gill scored 130 runs in 97 balls in this match. He hit 15 fours and a six. Gill got out in the 50th over. Earlier, he had come close to a century on many occasions, but could not score a century. Even against West Indies, he could not complete his century due to rain. He achieved this feat in this match.

Brad Evans took five wickets for Zimbabwe. He has done this for the first time in his ODI career. Evans took five wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs in this match. Evans took the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda and Shardul Thakur. Apart from them, Nyuchi and Jongwe took a wicket each. At the same time, Ishan Kishan was run out.
Zimbabwe’s poor start:
Chasing the target of 290 runs, Zimbabwe did not do well and Innocent Kaya left the team on the score of seven runs. Deeper Chahar made him LBW on the score of six runs. After this, Sean Williams took over the innings. He shared a 75-run partnership with Kaitano and Tony. Meanwhile Kaitano returned after getting injured. Sean Williams got out on the score of 82. Sikandar could not turn the match:
Sikandar Raza came to the crease after the dismissal of Sean Williams. He batted well. Wickets kept falling at one end, but Raza remained at the crease. Captain Chakabhava got out after scoring 16 runs. Raza shared a century partnership with Evans for the eighth wicket. Evans was dismissed for 28 off Avesh’s delivery. After them Sikandar Raza returned to the pavilion. Avesh wrapped up Zimbabwe’s innings by bowling Victor Nyuchi (00).
