75th Independence Day: President Draupadi Murmu will address the nation today (Sunday) on the eve of Independence Day. This will be his first address to the nation as President. Rashtrapati Bhavan gave this information by issuing a statement on Saturday.
It was informed that the President’s address will be broadcast on all national networks of All India Radio. Apart from this, the people of the country can watch the message of President Draupadi Murmu on all the channels of Doordarshan. President Draupadi Murmu’s address will begin at 7 pm. It will be broadcast first in Hindi and then in English.
After the telecast of the address in Hindi and English on Doordarshan, it will be telecast in the respective regional languages by its regional channels, the statement said. All India Radio will telecast it in the regional language at 9.30 pm on their respective regional networks.
Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th President of the country on 25 July. She is the youngest and the first tribal to hold the top constitutional post. He is the first President who has been born after the independence of the country.
India achieved the target of 75 wetlands in the 75th year of independence:
The Environment Ministry said on Saturday that 11 more wetlands were included in the Ramsar list. With this, in the 75th year of independence, the number of wetlands of international importance in the country has increased to 75.
Of the 11 sites in the list, 4 are in Tamil Nadu, 3 in Odisha, 2 in Jammu and Kashmir and one each in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. From 1982 to 2013, 26 sites were placed on the Ramsar list, while 49 sites have achieved this feat since 2014. The maximum number of 28 sites were declared wetlands this year.
These are the new wetlands:
Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary, Suchindram Theroor Wetland Complex, Vaduvur Bird Sanctuary and Kanjirankulam Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu, Tampara Lake, Hirakud Reservoir and Ansupa Lake in Odisha, Hygham Wetland Conservation Reserve and Shalabug Wetland Conservation Reserve in Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh respectively. Thane Creek and Yashwant Sagar have been included in this list. Let us inform that at present the maximum number of Ramsar sites in Tamil Nadu is 14.
