The celebration of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence will be celebrated in a special way in the city of Boston, USA. 32 countries will participate in it and a 220-feet tall Indo-US flag will be hoisted over the city by an aircraft.
Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) – New England President Abhishek Singh said that this year, many things will happen for the first time in the celebration of India’s independence.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker declared 75 years of Independence Day as ‘India Day’, which will be celebrated on India Street in Boston on August 15 and the day before that on August 14 at the State House in Rhode Island.
On this occasion, former Indian cricketer RP Singh can be present as Grand Marshal in the parade. FIA New England is celebrating 75 years of India’s independence under the banner ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
People from 32 countries participating for the first time:
The FIA said that for the first time in the history of America, people from 32 countries are going to participate in the India Day Parade. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has sent a pre-recorded message on the occasion.
In his message, Goyal said, India-US relations have come a long way. Today we are natural partners. We are friends and we are very important allies. Our partnership is strategic, very deep and has important dimensions.
