The ICC has decided to host all major tournaments from 2024 to 2027. The names of the host countries were finalized at the ICC’s annual conference in Birmingham. The ICC has said that there will be four major tournaments for women’s teams in four years, starting with the ICC Women’s World Cup 2024. It is hosted by Bangladesh. This is the first time that Bangladesh is hosting a major ICC women’s tournament and the second time the country is hosting the T20 World Cup. To be held in the months of September and October, this tournament will have a total of 23 matches between 10 teams.
India to host 2025 World Cup:
India has been given the hosting of the Women’s ODI World Cup to be held in the year 2025. India will host an ICC women’s tournament for the fifth time. Even before this, India has hosted the ICC Women’s World Cup four times. Eight teams will participate in this tournament and there will be a total of 31 matches.
2026 T20 World Cup will be held in England:
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is hosted by England. In this tournament to be held in the month of June, the number of teams will increase from 10 to 12 and a total of 33 matches will be played. This will be the first time that the Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in England. Expressing happiness over this, England Cricket Board CEO Claire Connor said that in 2017 England got the hosting of the Women’s World Cup and the England team became the champion. The final match was packed with spectators at Lord’s and I can’t forget Heather Knight lifting the trophy at such a moment.
Women’s Champions Trophy to start from Sri Lanka:
Women’s Champions Trophy will be played for the first time in the year 2026. This tournament will be held in T20 format. There will be a total of 16 matches between six teams in this tournament to be held in the month of February.
