Sakurajima volcano in Japan’s Kagoshima prefecture erupted on Sunday night. Ashes and stones are continuously coming out of it. Japan’s Meteorological Agency said the Sakurajima volcano erupted at around 8:05 p.m. local time. Asked to vacate the house for the people around. According to a report, JMA has issued an alert of the fifth level.
Issued orders to leave people home:
The agency estimates that the volcano is unlikely to cause a large-scale eruption. Nevertheless, the agency has raised its alert level to an all-time high of five. It was implemented in Sakurajima for the first time since the system was introduced in 2007.

Meteorological agency officials said large volcanic rocks could fall within a three-kilometer radius of the volcano in parts of the city of Kagoshima. He also says that people should be alert for pyroclastic flows within a radius of about 2 km.

An agency official said in a press conference that Sakurajima’s volcanic activity is intensifying. Residents in residential areas should be on high alert for large volcanic rocks falling nearby. He also says that people should be alert for pyroclastic flows within a radius of about 2 km.
Orange flames and plumes of ash are seen coming out of the volcano:
Visuals broadcast on Japan’s state-run NHK TV showed orange flames and plumes of ash rising from the volcano. Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihiko Isozaki said that we are putting people’s lives first and doing our best to assess the situation. He requested the people in and around the area to pay attention to the latest updates from the local authorities so that lives could be saved.
