0 IND vs ENG: Sourav Ganguly’s big statement on Virat Kohli’s form

The last few years have not been good for India’s star batsman and former captain Virat Kohli. He has been struggling to score runs. In the last two and a half years, he has not been able to score a single century in international cricket.

In every match, he has been seen getting out in a new way. In such a situation, the fans are eagerly waiting for his century. Sourav Ganguly, the current President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has expressed hope that soon Virat will show amazing with the bat.

While talking to the media in London, Ganguly said- Virat Kohli has scored a lot of runs in international cricket. His figures give the answer for themselves. It cannot happen without capability and quality. Yes, the past few times have been tough for him and he himself knows this. Virat has been a great player for India.

Virat himself knows that he has not been able to score runs for some time, which is not his standard. I see him come back and he will definitely score a lot of runs again. To get back in form again, Virat will have to find a way that can make him successful, as he has been doing for the last 12-13 years. Only Virat Kohli can do that.

Ganguly said

Ganguly said – these things will happen in the game. This has happened to many great cricketers in the past as well. Be it Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid or me, everyone has gone through such a phase. This will definitely happen to many more players in the future. This is part of the game. As a player, don’t think about all this and keep playing your natural game.

Ganguly has also been honored by the British Parliament in London. Regarding this, he said – I was honored by the British Parliament as a Bengali. So it’s a good feeling. This program was in Parliament. He contacted me six months back. They give this award every year and this time I got it.

On the question of challenges during Corona as BCCI President, Ganguly said – It was challenging because no one had seen Kovid before. It stopped the world, but we managed to keep cricket going. As you know what kind of fight took place for broadcasting rights. We are happy about it.

Ganguly said- I never equate money with sports, but it is good to have money. This helps in strengthening the infrastructure. Indian cricket is in a strong position. When my tenure is over someone else will come and take Indian cricket forward. It is the players and administrators who move the game forward.

On holding the Asia Cup there in the midst of the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka, Ganguly said – I cannot comment at the moment. We will keep watch. Australia is playing there at the moment. The Sri Lankan team is doing really well. Wait one more month.

Virat getting along with the BCCI President is a big deal as Kohli was dropped from the limited overs captaincy after the T20 World Cup last year. Then there was a lot of controversy between Ganguly and Virat. The rhetoric from both the sides shook Indian cricket.

However, all seems to be going well now. Indian team is currently playing ODI series in England. The second match of which will be played on Thursday. Fans will be expecting runs from Virat’s bat in this match.
