Animals and birds are like interconnected blocks of life on earth, like the whole world, these blocks are fast disappearing in India too. This year World Environment Day has also been given the theme ‘Only One Earth’ i.e. only one earth with the same thinking that everyone’s attention can be paid to the conservation of these creatures.
Some special creatures were discovered in India in three years. Conservation of these creatures is also necessary because after ending here, they will probably never be found on earth. Know about these new residents found in the country
Calliope:
This rare bird, which is rarely seen in Japan, Korea and China, was seen for the first time in Andaman and Nicobar. Scientists of the Scientific Association confirmed its presence in India.
Scorpions…which were found in Himachal and Uttarakhand:
Nine new species of scorpions were recorded in Nepal including Himachal and Uttarakhand. They were named after scientists from the Czech Republic as Scorpiops kovaric groceri, kejvali and tryjnai.
Zoothera Citrine:
This orange-headed bird was considered extinct in India. Some people in the southern regions of Myanmar have confirmed sightings. Then a miracle happened and it appeared in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Journal of Andaman Science Association released the report on this in 2020.
Snakes … which got their name from the character of the Harry Potter series:
Tramaresuruj Salazar snake was discovered by wildlife expert Ayaz Mirza in Arunachal Pradesh. It was named after Salazar Slytherin, a character from the Harry Potter series.
Colorful dragon fly:
Three types of dragon fly were discovered from Shendurni Wildlife Sanctuary in Kollam, Kerala. Of these, Protosticata cyanofemora was found to be the most unique because of its blue colour. It was named Protosticata Cynofemora joshi after insect expert S. Joshi.
6 New fish from the Bay of Bengal:
- Indian scientists in collaboration with Annamalai University discovered a new species of fish Paraparesis Annamalai Yosuva in the Bay of Bengal. It was also recognized in the name of the university.
- 15,64,647 species of animals and birds have been discovered so far on Earth, which are still in existence
- 1,02,718 of these are found in India
- This is 6.56% of the total species present on the earth.
- Different scientists have been estimating the species of animals, birds and fishes on earth from 30 lakh to 100 million.
- Of these, 15.64 lakh are recorded, that is, a large number of species are still to be recorded.
new species found:
- 12.5 lakh in the last 270 years
- last 10 years 4,112
- The special thing is that in India, 34% of species were recorded by government wildlife experts, while the rest were recorded through non-government experts.
- It is estimated that it will take humans about 1300 years to record all living things.
