Deepika, a student of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, has got a silver medal in boxing in Khelo India. Deepika is a student of GNM College, she participated in the weight category of 72 kg. University players qualified in four sports.
University Sports Director Dr. Akhilesh Chandra Saxena informed that the Khelo India University II Sanskar is being organized by the Central Government at Jain University, Bangalore from April 23 and will be concluded on May 2.
He told that in boxing, Deepika won a silver medal for the university. Instructor Bijendra Singh’s dedication paid off. Team Manager Dr. Praveen Singh Jadaun and Supporting Staff were Sarita Singh and Bijendra Singh.
16 sports being organized:
16 sports are being organized in the competition. Apart from boxing, the players of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University performed well in Judo, Wrestling and Athletics.
Two female players and two male players in boxing, one male player and one female player in wrestling, two male players in judo, one female player and one male player in athletics qualified.
In boxing, Mukul, a student of KA College, Kasganj, stood fifth in his weight category, while Anik Verma, a student of the same college, secured the sixth position. Student Shivani Tomar also secured fifth position.
In Judo, Lalit, a student of KA College, also secured the fifth position. At the same time, student of Aligarh secured sixth position in Sohan.
In wrestling, Prateek, a student of SBJ College, Bisawar, secured seventh position. Agra College student Satyanarayan came fourth in the 20 km walk.
