Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals (RRvDC): The 58th match of IPL 2022 will be played between RR vs DC, the match will start at 07:30 PM IST on 11 May 2022 at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai, India
Team winner Prediction:
Key Points:
- Rajasthan Royals have a better-balanced side between the two, at least on paper
- Delhi Capitals are coming off a massive drubbing at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in their previous game and might be running low on confidence
- The likes of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Yuzi Chahal are in excellent form and will not be easy to deal with
RR vs DC Analysis:
This edition of the Indian Premier League is certainly getting interesting with every passing game. We are into the last few league games and as many as nine teams are still in business to progress to the next round. Things will get a lot clearer going forward and this week is going to be mighty important for all sides still in contention.
Up next in the tournament, though, Rajasthan Royals are set to take on Delhi Capitals in a match that would be of significant importance for both these sides. A win for Rajasthan Royals will, in all likelihood, push them closer to a top-two finish and a win for the Capitals will keep them well in the hunt.

Match 58- RR vs DC
Date: 11 May, 2022
Time: 07:30 PM (IST)
Venue: DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai, India
Live Streaming: Disney+ Hotstar
TV: Star Sports Network
Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The conditions at the DY Patil Stadium have been good for batting in most matches. With so many matches being played, it is normal that a bit of spin will start to appear, and that balances the contest a bit. For the most part, though, dew, short boundaries, and good carry in the pitch all tilt things in favor of the batters.
Team Preview:
Rajasthan Royals (RR):
As compared to Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals are placed a lot better in the race to the playoffs but would still not want to take things lightly. Another win in any of their three remaining matches should be enough to take them through, provided they do not bottle it completely in their other matches. They have done pretty well in the tournament so far but there will be a few concerns for them going into this upcoming match.
Rajasthan Royals’ major problem in the tournament has been the finishing with the bat, something that was overly reliant on Shimron Hetmyer. With Hetmyer not available in this upcoming match, the onus will be on the likes of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson to step up their game at the top. Also, they would need someone to replace Hetmyer and play a similar role and that, by any means, is not going to be easy. We expect Rajasthan Royals to bring Rassie van der Dussen in to play in the middle-order and also include James Neesham in place of Devdutt Padikkal to strengthen the power game in their batting order.
As it currently stands on the points table, the Royals are placed third with seven wins in eleven games. They have 14 points to their name along with an excellent net run rate of 0.326. A win here will push them on par with Lucknow Super Giants and a step closer to the top-two finish. If they are able to play to their potential in this upcoming match, keeping them quiet is going to be a massive challenge for the Capitals.
Likely XI: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Riyan Parag, Jimmy Neesham/Rassie van der Dussen, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen

Delhi Capitals (DC):
Delhi Capitals’ campaign has been the definition of inconsistency. They have had to deal with several setbacks, both on and off the field, but their performance on-field hasn’t helped their cause either. So inconsistent have they been in the tournament so far that they have not won two matches in a row yet. Another case emerged from their camp before the last match and it will be interesting to see if they’ll be able to field their first-choice eleven in this upcoming match.
The Capitals are coming off a 91-run drubbing in their previous match at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. The good thing for them though is that they still pretty much have their fate in their own hands and would want to keep it that way by winning this upcoming contest.
As it currently stands on the points table, Delhi Capitals are placed fifth on the ladder with five wins from eleven matches. However, their decent net run rate of 0.15, which is best amongst the bottom-six teams, provides them a bit of an edge as far as qualification scenarios are concerned.
On paper, Delhi Capitals have a side as good as any but they have been pretty poor tactically and performance-wise. They have been pretty inconsistent at the top even since Prithvi Shaw has been unavailable and will need someone to step-up in this upcoming game. Also, the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant have played a couple of excellent cameos, those have not been enough to push them across the line. On the bowling front as well, they have not been able to manage things when under the pump.
All in all, Delhi Capitals have a decent side on paper, but will need to get their execution in order. If they are able to do that, they will be a very difficult side to deal with going forward in the tournament.
Likely XI: David Warner, Srikar Bharat, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Ripal Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Anrich Nortje
