0 Para Badminton International: Indian players showed strength in Brazil, won a total of 28 medals including 9 gold and 6 silver

Para Badminton International

The Indian contingent dominated the six-day Para Badminton International tournament held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This competition of BWF (World Badminton Federation) Para Badminton International Level 2 was organized after a gap of two years. India won a total of 28 medals in this, in which Indian players won 9 gold, 6 silver and 13 bronze medals.

World number three Sukant Kadam won a silver medal in the SL4 category here while Pramod Bhagat claimed two bronze medals. Sukant Kadam lost in the final to compatriot Tarun Dhillon in a tight match while world number one Pramod Bhagat was defeated in a close contest by India’s Nitesh.

From India, Nitesh Kumar, Tarun Dhillon, Mandeep Kaur, Jyoti Verma, Manisha Ramdas won gold medals in different categories. Apart from these, a total of four golds were won in doubles and mixed doubles events.
