Kashmir Zone Police said that late in the night the terrorists opened fire on Mohammad Amrej, a resident of Bihar in Sodnara Sumbal, Bandipora. He was injured by a bullet. He died during treatment. A joint team of security forces is conducting a search operation in search of the attackers.
Earlier on Thursday, terrorists were trying to carry out a major attack in Rajori district of Jammu division. The terrorists once again hatched a nefarious plan for a major attack like Uri, which was foiled by the alert soldiers of the army. At around 2 am on Thursday, when the army personnel were sleeping in the camp, the terrorists under the cover of darkness, bad weather and thick bushes launched a suicide attack, hurled grenades and then started firing. It is being told that on Tuesday afternoon, two unknown people in army uniform were roaming in the market carrying weapons and both had also bought some items. When people found their activities suspicious, the police were immediately informed, after which the army and police also launched a search operation in Darhal and some nearby areas, but during this both the terrorists were not caught by the army or the police.
Fidayeen attack on DIG police in 2004:
Terrorists trained by Pakistan had also carried out a fidayeen attack on the then DIG Police SM Sahai in Rajori in 2004. Two police personnel were martyred in the attack. During this, two terrorists were killed. Then in the government office of DIG Rajori-Poonch police range, terrorists attacked fidayeen and opened fire targeting his chair, but at that time the DIG was not present in his office.
