India has expressed its commitment to France to deal with the fierce fire in the forests due to the ever-increasing temperature in France. On Tuesday, PM Modi spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron. During this, many issues were discussed between the two global leaders.
The two leaders also held talks on the Indo-French strategic partnership and on issues of global and regional importance, including food and energy security. It is worth noting that a day before this, French President Emmanuel Macron had tweeted and wished Indians a Happy Independence Day.
PM Modi said – India with France
On Tuesday, PM Modi spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron. During this, he apprised President Emmanuel Macron of India’s solidarity with France in dealing with the devastating fire in the forests of France. He said India is with France.
PM Modi told about this conversation by tweeting. “We discussed ongoing bilateral cooperation under the India-France Strategic Partnership and other issues of global and regional importance,” he tweeted.
In the talks, the two leaders agreed to work together to address the global challenges of food and energy security. PM Modi said in his tweet that, “President Emmanuel Macron and I also agreed to cooperate together to respond to the global challenges of food and energy security.”
The President of France had wished India:
A day before the talks with PM Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron had congratulated India on its 76th Independence Day. At the same time, he also talked about maintaining strong bilateral ties with India.
Appreciating India’s astonishing achievement in the last 75 years, he said in his tweet, ‘Dear friend Narendra Modi, dear people of India, congratulations on your Independence Day! As you proudly celebrate India’s astonishing achievements over the past 75 years, you can always count on France to always stand by you.” Macron had two tweets wishing India. One in English and the other in Hindi.
India and France have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations. Defense and security cooperation, space cooperation and civil nuclear cooperation are key pillars of our strategic partnership with France. India and France are increasingly engaged in new areas of cooperation such as security in the Indian Ocean region, climate change including the International Solar Alliance, and sustainable development among others.
