On the call of United Kisan Morcha, Kisan Mahapanchayat is being organized at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Monday. Farmers have started gathering at KMP Zero Point in Sonipat. All these farmers will leave for Delhi along with United Kisan Morcha leader Abhimanyu Kohar.
The police guard has been increased at the Tikri border to prevent the entry of farmers to Delhi. Barricades of iron and cement have been installed here. The police of four police stations are keeping an eye on the vehicles passing through here.
Delhi Police personnel have been deployed at Kundli-Singhu border. If a large number of farmers from Punjab start reaching Delhi, dumpers full of sand have been parked on the roadside to stop them. However, Delhi Police says that these dumpers are standing with highway construction material.
However, the Bhakiyu Chadhuni faction of Haryana and 31 organizations of Punjab have distanced themselves from this demonstration. In the Mahapanchayat to be held in Delhi, justice to the farmers of Lakhimpur Kheri, cancellation of electricity bill 2022, increase in the minimum support price of sugarcane, payment of cane dues from sugar mills and other demands will be considered.
After this the farmers will go to submit the memorandum to the President. Farmer leaders say that ending the farmers’ agitation on the Kundli border for almost a year, the government had assured to fulfill their demands soon, but till date no step has been taken.
State Vice President of Bhartiya Kian Union (Chaduni), Satyawan Narwal said that farmers under the banner of union will stage a sit-in outside the Chief Minister’s residence in Karnal on August 25 and 26, but will not go to Jantar Mantar in Delhi to participate in today’s Mahapanchayat.
If the blockade is imposed by the Delhi Police, then there may be a jam:
Due to the construction in the Kundli border area, there is often a situation of jam. In such a situation, during the mahapanchayat of farmers in Delhi, Delhi Police put a naka on the border and let them go ahead after checking the vehicles, then there could be a situation of jam in the Kundli area. In such a situation, the Kundli police has to work hard.
