8 people were killed and 18 were injured in two serial blasts near a Shia mosque in the Afghan capital, Kabul, late Friday. According to reports, on Friday, an explosion took place in a vehicle parked near the mosque. A senior Taliban official has confirmed this. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for this blast. The blast was aimed at women.
Explosives were kept in a cart full of vegetables:
Police spokesman Khalid Zadran said the blast took place at a crowded place. A video of the purported blast site has been posted on social media in which people can be seen running to help the injured after the incident.
A senior Taliban security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said preliminary investigations showed explosives were placed in a cart loaded with vegetables and that the blast injured more than 18 people, including women and children, and killed eight. There was a painful death.
