0 75th Independence Day: 25 events from independence till now, which settled in the hearts and minds of people

This time the country is celebrating the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The country has completed 75 years of independence. In these 75 years, the country struggled a lot to walk shoulder to shoulder with the world. Faced a lot of difficulties. Today the whole world proudly takes the name of Hindustan. All this has been possible because of each and every citizen of the country.

The people of India suffered a lot in these 75 years. It started with the partition of India-Pakistan and till date there is some difficulty. Let us know in a sequential manner about those 25 incidents of the past years, which are still in the hearts of common people.

The tragedy of partition is one of the most important events in the history of India. The British rule divided India on communal lines before giving independence to the country. Pakistan became a separate country after separating from India.

What happened to the effect?

Millions of people were affected. Millions of hearts cried, grieved. There was heavy violence on both sides. It is estimated that about one million people died in the tragedy of Partition.

There was a war between India and China over the border dispute. China had refused to accept the McMahon Line and the Line of Actual Control. A month later, China declared a ceasefire. India suffered a lot in this war.

Effect: The morale of the people was badly broken. The country plunged into great despair. For the first time, the country realized the challenge of China, whom we considered as friends.

The country had not yet recovered from the war with China that Pakistan attacked India. Both sides suffered heavy losses in this war, ultimately the victory of India. This was the second victory against Pakistan after independence.

Effect: The disappointment of the defeat against China in the country subsided. The public made Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri sit on his head.

East Pakistanis fought for independence from Pakistan and India supported them. Frustrated on this, Pakistan attacked India. India divided Pakistan into two pieces. Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister then. Bangladesh became an independent country on 26 March 1971 under the leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Effect:– Pakistan felt the pain of partition. It became clear to Pakistan that it cannot win any war with India.

On 18 March 1974, students in Bihar started this movement against misgovernance and corruption. It was led by the socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan. Soon this movement spread across the country. There was anger in the minds of the people towards the Indira Gandhi government. JP raised his voice against Indira Gandhi. This movement later came to be known as JP Movement.

Effect: After this movement, the country had to face the punishment of ‘Emergency’.
