The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today searched 13 premises of suspects in six states in connection with ISIS activities. In this action of NIA, objectionable documents and material have been seized. Further investigation is on in the matter.
Raids in these states:
Bhopal and Raisen districts in Madhya Pradesh, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari and Ahmedabad districts in Gujarat, Araria district in Bihar, Bhatkal and Tumkur city districts in Karnataka, Kolhapur and Nanded districts in Maharashtra and Deoband district in Uttar Pradesh are related to ISIS activities. The case was registered by the NIA on June 25, 2022 under sections 153A, and 153B of the IPC and sections 18, 18B, 38, 39 and 40 of the UA (P) Act.
Action of NIA and ATS team in Saharanpur, UP:
On Sunday morning in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and UP ATS raided Deoband and arrested a suspicious youth. Told that the suspect youth is a student of a madrasa. He was in touch with the IS module.
Was on the radar of NIA for a long time. The NIA team nabbed him this morning from the madrasa itself. However, the local police is yet to confirm the action of the NIA. UP ATS and NIA have caught this suspected terrorist on the basis of confidential information. It is being told that this terrorist is also related to the bomb blasts in Syria. At present, ATS has taken it with them.
