Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleagues met Draupadi Murmu after her way to become the country’s first tribal president was cleared. BJP President JP Nadda did a three kilometer long road show. In fact, by taking the credit of giving the country the first tribal president, the BJP wants to set the path for its expansion along with getting big political gains.
In fact, with the help of the Presidential election, the BJP has always run a gamble to break the party’s perception of itself with expansion. The BJP has got a chance to make three presidents so far. The party put forward Muslims (AJP Abdul Kalam), Scheduled Castes (Ramnath Kovind) and Scheduled Tribes (Draupadi Murmu) to the post on these three occasions.
Opportunity to Brahmins:
- If you look at the history of presidential elections, 14 celebrities have become presidents so far. The Brahmin fraternity has got the maximum opportunity on this post. So far six people of this community and eight from the upper castes have reached this post.
- Four personalities from the minority community have traveled to Raisina Hills. Three of these Zakir Hussain, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed and AJP Abdul Kalam were Muslims, while Giani Zail Singh was Sikh.
- The Dalit fraternity has got the opportunity to become the first citizen twice. These include KR Narayanan and current President Ram Nath Kovind. The country will get the first tribal president in the form of Murmu.
