Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, facing rebellion in his own party, had made preparations to resign on June 22 at 5 pm. News agency ANI has given this information quoting sources. It has been told that when it became clear to Uddhav that the number of rebel MLAs was increasing continuously and there was no way to save his government, then he decided to resign.
Sources said that Uddhav Thackeray also contacted BJP leaders during this period to get the Maha Vikas Aghadi government out of trouble. However, when things did not work out, he had made preparations to resign and then go to the memorial of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb on the evening of 22 June.
Thackeray had fixed the time till 5 o’clock to announce his resignation. But after the change in plan, the conference was fixed for 5.30 pm. Significantly, only a few hours after this whole incident, Thackeray left the CM residence with his family and reached Matoshree.
Angry MLAs wrote a letter to Uddhav telling the reason for the rebellion:
The rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena had written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray a few days ago, explaining the reason for the rebellion. In this, the MLAs made many big allegations against him. Whether it is the issue of the CM not meeting the MLAs of his own party or preventing them from going to Ayodhya. There are many such big allegations in the letter shared by Eknath Shinde on Twitter. In the letter that has surfaced, Shiv Sena MLAs have also complained about Uddhav giving preference to Congress and NCP leaders over their MLAs.
What was said in the letter of MLAs?
The name of Sanjay Shirsat, MLA from Aurangabad West assembly seat is written at the bottom of this letter shared by Shinde. That is, Shirsat did the work of writing this letter on behalf of all the MLAs. Referring to the developments that took place after Uddhav Thackeray vacated the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday night, it said- “Yesterday the doors of Varsha Bungalow opened to the general public in the true sense. It was heartwarming to see the crowd at the bungalow. These doors For the last one and a half years, the MLAs of Shiv Sena were closed for us as well. To enter that bungalow as MLA, we had to plead (use of objectionable word) people living next to you, who once contested elections. He did not come by election, but has reached the Legislative Council and Rajya Sabha on the shoulders of people like us.
