The DRDO and the Indian Army on Tuesday successfully test-fired an indigenously built anti-tank guided missile (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) at the KK range in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, the Defense Ministry said. An anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) was successfully test fired from the Arjun battle tank, the ministry statement said.
In the test, the ATGM struck the Bulls Eye with accuracy and successfully defeated the target at minimum ranges. The telemetry system recorded the missile’s satisfactory flight performance.
It is challenging to hit the target at lower range which has been successfully achieved by the anti-tank guided missile. With the test, the anti-tank guided missile’s capability to engage targets in a minimum to maximum range has been established, the statement noted. Earlier tests have been successful for the maximum range.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated the DRDO and the Indian Army for the successful test-fire of the anti-tank guided missile, the statement said.
