0 Rajya Sabha Election: 41 candidates became MPs without voting

Rajya Sabha election process is going on for 57 seats in 15 states. Out of these 57, 41 seats have been elected unopposed. Voting is being held today for 16 seats in four states. The 41 seats in which the election was held unopposed include the seats of 11 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh.

Let us know who has been elected unopposed from which state? How many people have got a chance to reach the House again? How many new faces are going to be seen in Rajya Sabha? Where elections are being held, who are the candidates and how many sitting Rajya Sabha MPs are there?

Who has been elected unopposed as MP from Uttar Pradesh?

Elections have been held unopposed in 11 seats from Uttar Pradesh. Of the 11 elected MPs, eight are from the BJP and three are from the SP quota. Apart from BJP’s Laxmikant Bajpai, former BJP MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, former state president of Mahila Morcha Darshana Singh, former MLA Sangeeta Yadav, Backward Classes Finance Development Corporation president Baburam Nishad, Rajya Sabha member Surendra Kumar Nagar, BJP OBC Morcha National President Dr. K. Laxman and former MP Mithilesh Kumar have been declared elected to the Rajya Sabha.

On behalf of the SP alliance, SP’s Rajya Sabha member Javed Ali, Congress Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal, who came as an independent and RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary, have been elected.

Who was elected unopposed from Bihar?

Elections have been held unopposed on five seats from Bihar. Of these, two seats have gone to BJP, two to RJD and one to JDU. Satishchandra Dubey and Shambhu Sharan Patel from BJP, Khiru Mahto from JDU, Misa Bharti and Fayaz Ahmed from RJD have reached Rajya Sabha. In these five, Misa Bharti and Satishchandra Dubey are going to Rajya Sabha again.

Who reached Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu?

Six MPs from Tamil Nadu have been elected unopposed. Of these, three candidates have been elected from the ruling DMK, two from the AIADMK and one from the Congress. DMK’s S Kalyanasundaram, R Girirajan and KRN Rajesh Kumar, AIADMK’s CV Shanmugam and R Dharmar and Congress’s P Chidambaram have been declared elected unopposed. Chidambaram is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra.

YSR Congress wins all four seats in Andhra Pradesh:

Rajya Sabha elections are being held for four seats in Andhra Pradesh. All the four candidates of the ruling YSR Congress were elected unopposed. Elected candidates include V. Vijayasai Reddy, B. Mastan Rao, R. Krishnaiah and S. Niranjan Reddy. Now the number of YSR Congress members in the Rajya Sabha has increased to nine.

Three candidates each were elected unopposed from Madhya Pradesh, Odisha?

Rajya Sabha elections were held for three seats each in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP got two and Congress got one seat. Kavita Patidar and Sumitra Valmiki were elected from BJP and Vivek Tankha from Congress.

Tankha will again reach Rajya Sabha. BJD candidates won all the three seats in Odisha. Sulata Dev, Manas Ranjan Mangraj and Sasmit Patra were among the BJD candidates elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. Let us tell you that Patra has been re-elected to the Rajya Sabha.

Two candidates each from these four states reached Rajya Sabha unopposed?

Elections are being held for two seats each in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Jharkhand. In these eight seats also all the candidates were elected unopposed. TRS got both the seats in Telangana. TRS B. Parthasaradhi Reddy and D. Damodar Rao have been declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha.

At the same time, Congress got both the seats in Chhattisgarh. From here Rajeev Shukla and Ranjeet Ranjan were elected unopposed. Aam Aadmi Party got both the seats in Punjab. From here Balbir Singh Seechewal and Vikramjit Singh Sahni were elected unopposed.

In Jharkhand, JMM got one seat and BJP got one seat. From here BJP candidate Aditya Sahu and JMM candidate Mahua Maji were elected. At the same time, only one seat in Uttarakhand went to BJP’s account. From here BJP candidate Dr. Kalpana Saini was elected unopposed.

Voting is going on in 16 seats of these four states:

Votes are being cast in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Haryana for the Rajya Sabha elections today. Seven candidates are in the fray for six seats in Maharashtra, six candidates for four seats in Karnataka, five candidates for four seats in Rajasthan and three candidates for two seats in Haryana.
