0 PFA Awards 2022: Mohamed Salah named Footballer of the Year

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named Footballer of the Year for the second time. He got this award on the basis of voting of professional fellow players. Chelsea striker Sam Kerr, who scored 20 goals, has received the award for the best female footballer. Salah is the seventh player from the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to receive the award more than once.

Mohamed Salah scored 23 goals in the Premier League. On receiving the PFA award, Salah said that I have a room for trophies. There is more room in it. Along with this, he said that my effort is to contribute to the victory of the team.

These players were in the race for the prize:

Manchester United’s Cristiana Ronaldo, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dyke and Sadio Mane were in the running for the PFA’s Player of the Year.

Sam Kerr created history:

Sam Kerr, the women’s player who helped Chelsea win the title, scored 20 goals. For this she received the Woman Player of the Year award. She is the first Australian footballer (both men’s and women’s) to win this award.

In 2000, Harry Kewell won the Young Player of the Year award. Kerr was the highest goalscorer of the year in the Women’s Super League. On receiving the award, Sam Kerr said that it is a huge award for me, because fellow players voted for it.

He became a young player:

Manchester City forward Phil Foden won the Young Player of the Year award. City’s Lauren Hemp won the Young Woman award for the fourth time.

Men’s Team of the Year:

Alisson (Liverpool), Trent Alexander Arnold (Liverpool), Virgin Van Dyke (Liverpool), Antonia Rudriger (Chelsea), Go Conselo (Manchester City), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Thiago Alcantra (Liverpool), Bernardo Silva (Manchester) City), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).

Women’s Team of the Year:

Ann-Cartin Berger (Chelsea), Ona Battle (Manchester United), Leah Williamson (Arsenal), Millie Bright (Chelsea), Alex Greenwood (Manchester City), Kim Little (Arsenal), Caroline Weir (Manchester City), Guro Reiten ( Chelsea), Lauren Hemp (Manchester City), Sam Kerr (Chelsea), Vivienne Miedema (Arsenal).
