Here the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has announced to enter Jama Masjid and worship. Police officials said that in view of the announcement of VHP, Section 144 will be in force in the city from 6 am to 6 pm.
Actually, the fire of Gyanvapi Masjid dispute has reached other states. Controversy has arisen regarding Jama Masjid located in Srirangapatna, Karnataka. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad claims that there was a temple here, which was demolished by Tipu Sultan and made a mosque. Now VHP has announced to enter Jama Masjid and worship.
More than 500 policemen deployed:
Tight security arrangements have been made in Srirangapatna city for the demonstration of VHP. SP Yatish said, more than 500 policemen have been deployed and four check posts have been set up. He told that to maintain peace and order, the police also took out a route march.
Closed Masjid Road:
After the announcement by the VHP, Masjid Road has been completely closed. Deputy Commissioner Ashwathi S said that people are not allowed to enter the mosque today. The weekly market has also been closed.
At the same time, a ban has also been imposed on the sale of liquor in the area up to five kilometers. Police officials said CCTV cameras have been installed to keep an eye on suspicious activities.
Student suspended for wearing hijab-
A girl student at a government college in Uppinangadi, Karnataka was suspended for wearing a hijab. The principal told that the student had reached the college on Friday wearing a hijab. After that he was sent back. The girl student has been suspended for six days, he said.
