0 Indonesia Open: Prannoy was knocked out after losing in the semi-finals

World number 23 HS Prannoy crashed out of the tournament after losing in the semi-finals of the Indonesia Open in Jakarta. His defeat also ended the Indian challenge.

In the semi-finals, Prannoy was defeated by Zhao Jun Peng of China 16-21, 15-21. This was Prannoy’s second semi-final at the Indonesia Open. Earlier in the 2017 edition, he had reached the last four.

The Indian had defeated world number 13 Rasmus Gemke of Denmark to reach the semi-finals, but his hopes of reaching the final were dashed by Zhao. Earlier, Prannoy had also defeated his fellow player Lakshya Sen.
