Children who are infected with this disease also get high fever. Children who are infected with tomato flu have problems with dehydration. Along with this, there is also complaint of pain in the body and joints.

Major symptoms of tomato flu:

  • Dehydration.
  • Skin Rashes.
  • Irritation or itching of the skin.
  • Tomato rash and rash on the body.
  • high fever.
  • Pain in body and joints.
  • swollen joints.
  • Abdominal cramps and pain.
  • Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
  • Coughing, sneezing and runny nose.
  • Change in hand colour.
  • Dry mouth
  • Excessive fatigue.
  • Skin irritation.

Cause of Tomato Flu?

According to Dr. Manish, not much information has been received about tomato flu yet. Study is going on on this. Mostly children under the age of five are falling prey to it.

At the same time, the Health Minister of Kerala has issued a statement. He said, ‘Care should be taken that this disease does not spread to other children. It is very contagious. This flu spreads through direct contact with water, mucus, feces and fluids of the blister.

We got information about this disease from Dr. Ravindra Kaushik. He said, ‘Tomato flu is a type of self-limiting flu, which means that the symptoms can be controlled if proper care is taken in time. In such a situation, the most important thing is to keep the child hydrated.

What are the methods of protection?

  • Offer boiled clean water to the infected child, so that he can stay hydrated.
  • Prevent the child from itching on the blisters or rashes.
  • Take care of cleanliness around the house and the child.
  • Take a bath with warm water.
  • Keep distance from infected child.
  • Eat healthy diet.
  • If you notice any of the above-mentioned symptoms, consult a doctor immediately.
