Lucknow super Giants vs Royal Challenges Bangalore (LSGvRCB): The Eliminator of IPL 2022 will be played between LSG vs RCB, the match will start at 07:30 PM IST on 25 May 2022 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, India
Team winner Prediction:
Key Points:
- LSG has a more dynamic T20 team that can adapt to different conditions and opponents
- RCB has a very good bowling attack that has been instrumental in getting it to the playoffs
- Gautam Gambhir in the LSG think tank is also an underrated strength to have
LSG vs RCB Analysis:
IPL 2022 has reached the all-important playoff stage and the first of those matches is the Eliminator between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. LSG finished third with 9 wins while RCB finished fourth with 8 wins and both of them can claim to have some of their best players in form coming into this match.
This is the first time that LSG is in the IPL and to have made the playoff is quite commendable. RCB, on the other hand, has been here multiple times but has failed to win a title. Is this the year that they break the jinx?
The IPL betting sites are offering odds that are quite similar for both teams right now but RCB is the slight underdog.

Date: 25 May, 2022
Time: 07:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata, India
Live Streaming: Disney+ Hotstar
TV: Star Sports Network
Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The Eden Gardens has tended to be fast and bouncy in recent years. There is some help for the new ball bowlers and some help to exploit. This makes the contest quite even between the ball and bat. Once the betters get set, they can take advantage of the small boundaries, fast outfield, and the pace on offer as well.
We think something around 170 is going to be par for the venue here.
Team Preview:
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG):
LSG showed just how good their opening batting lineup could be in the previous match as Quinton de Kock smashed 140 from 70 deliveries and KL Rahul remained not out with 68 as well.
While the partnership as a whole was great, KL Rahul did not really accelerate like he was expected to and as a result, the team just got to 210. Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda, Manan Vohra, Marcus Stoinis, and Jason Holder formed the overseas players that played the previous match.
We think more or less the same team is going to line up for the Eliminator as well.
LSG’s batting lineup is tremendous with the Eden Gardens probably providing a fast, bounce, and excellent batting surface, a high-scoring match is expected. This means that from a betting point of view, we can look to bet on their batters to score some runs.
Evin Lewis and Deepak Hooda look quite attractive for some Over/Under bets.
The star of the bowling lineup for LSG has been Mohsin Khan. He has now been chosen in the Indian team and that will fill him with confidence as well. With left-arm pacers a particular challenge for the RCB top order, Khan could be a great choice to bet on in this contest.
Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Jason Holder, and K Gowtham are the other bowlers in this lineup with Marcus Stoinis chipping in as needed.
We like the look of this LSG team and think it has a big advantage against RCB in terms of player matchups.
Likely XI: Quinton de Kock, KL Rahul (c), Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, Krishnappa Gowtham, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):
Runs for Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell in the must-win match against the Gujarat Titans would have made RCB feel much better going into the playoffs. They have now won three out of their previous four matches and have momentum on their side.
RCB’s batting has been struggling in IPL 2022 because of its top-order struggles. If that is solved then RCB starts to look like a very dangerous team. We, however, are not jumping on the RCB bandwagon just yet.
Virat Kohli may have scored runs in the previous match but whether that will unlock the Kohli of old is yet to be seen. He and Faf du Plessis at the top of the order can be quite traditional as an opening pair and eat up a lot of deliveries at the top.
The danger players are probably going to be Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar with Dinesh Karthik coming in for the finishing kick.
This is a batting lineup that can be put under pressure for sure.
RCB, though, has an excellent bowling lineup. Josh Hazelwood, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga are all having an excellent IPL 2022. Siddharth Kaul, Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, and even Mahipal Lomror give RCB a number of different options to explore in this final match.
Likely XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik, Mahipal Lomror, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga Harshal Patel/Akash Deep, Siddarth Kaul/Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood.
