The family took him to CHC Joshimath, where doctors declared him brought dead. At the same time, at around 3.30 pm in Badrinath Dham, the health of female pilgrim Veena Ben (55), resident of Gujarat, deteriorated. The relatives took him to the PHC, but he had died before that. CMO Dr. SP Kudiyal said that both of them are likely to die due to cardiac arrest.
On the other hand, two passengers died of heart attack in Kedarnath. CMO Dr. BK Shukla said that Pradeep Kumar Kulkarni (61), resident of Sundapark, Pune, Maharashtra and Banshi Lal (57), resident of Gadcheli, police station Pipliya Mandi Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, who reached Dham on Friday, died of a heart attack. . A total of 23 passengers have died in the Kedarnath Yatra so far, out of which 22 have suffered a heart attack. Apart from this, three pilgrims from different provinces died in Rishikesh.
In this, the condition of Avdhesh Narayan Tiwari (65) son Shiv Prasad Tiwari, a resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, who returned from Chardham Yatra, deteriorated after bathing in the Ganges in Munikireti. At the same time, the condition of Peepalda Dhar, resident of Souram Bai (49) wife Amar Singh, who was part of the team of 22 passengers who came from Madhya Pradesh, deteriorated. Both were brought to SPS hospital where they were declared brought dead. On the other hand, Umesh Das Joshi (58) son Vitthaldas Raghav Joshi, a resident of Malad, Mumbai, who was found unconscious near the bus late on Thursday, was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Yamunotri Highway will be closed for three days for heavy vehicles, seven thousand pilgrims stranded:
The movement of big vehicles will be closed on Yamunotri Highway for three days. The security wall of the highway collapsed near Ranachatti on Wednesday. Somehow it was made movable, but due to the collapse of the highway again, the movement of big vehicles has stopped completely. Due to this there was a five km long jam from Paligad to Sayanachatti. Seven thousand passengers are reported to be stranded from Ranachatti towards Yamunotri Dham due to the closure of the highway.
SDM Shalini Negi told that the NH team will repair the highway during this period. During this time, the administration has started shuttle service to get the passengers across. 15 small vehicles have been installed between Ranachatti and Sayanachatti. About 25 small vehicles have been installed from Damta. Till the highway is not opened for big vehicles, passengers will be sent by small vehicles only.
