The team of CGST Bhiwandi Commissionerate in Mumbai has busted a big gang claiming to get Input Tax Credit (ITC) on the basis of fake bills. ITC of 18 crores has been detected initially on the basis of fake bills of 41 crores. The accused of a firm has been arrested in the case.
Sumit Kumar, commissioner of CGST Bhiwandi said that this gang was busy taking advantage of input tax credit through fake GST challans. A firm linked to this gang had availed ITC of Rs 2.57 crore through bogus bills of Rs 14.30 crore. The owner of the firm was arrested as soon as the matter came to the fore.
