Singhraj Adhana of Faridabad won India two gold medals on the final day of the Para Shooting World Cup. With this, India topped the medal tally by winning six gold, three silver and one bronze medals in the Para Shooting World Cup.
India started participating in the Para Shooting World Cup for the first time in 2017. India’s best performance this year. France (11 medals including 4 gold) came second and Ukraine (15 medals including 3 gold) came third.
On the final day of the event, Tokyo Paralympic silver medalist Singhraj finished fourth in the qualifying round. In the final round, he managed to win the gold medal with a score of 224.1. Ukraine’s Oleksiy Denisiuk (216.2) and Korea’s Jongdu Jo (193.9) won the bronze medal.
Before the individual event, Singhraj won the gold medal in the team event along with Deepender Singh and Manish Narwal. This is Singhraj’s first gold medal in the P4 individual event. At the same time, Rahul Jakhar won gold in the P3 mixed 25m pistol HH-1 event.
Team of Rahul Jakhar, Singhraj and Nihal won the gold 1695-36x ahead of Korea and Czech Republic. Manish Narwal and Rubina Francis won the gold medal in the P-6 Mixed Team 10m Air SH1 Pister event. The Indian para shooting team will now play in the World Championships to be held in Al An, UAE in November.
After winning the gold, Singhraj Adhana said – finally succeeded in winning the gold medal in the World Cup. I wanted to win the gold medal in Shatuhu France itself, but missed it due to technical constraints. Glad that this dream has come true in Munich. I thank my coach for this success.
