0 Canada: Pope arrived in Canada, will apologize for the atrocities on the children of the natives, thousands of children died

Pope Francis arrived in Edmonton in the Canadian province of Alberta on Sunday on a penance visit, where he was received by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Governor General Mary May Simon. Pope Francis will apologize here to locals whose children have been victims of various atrocities, including sexual misconduct, in residential schools of the Catholic Church.

A Vatican spokesman said the Pope had apologized to delegations from all three Canadian communities in Vatican City on April 1. Will now apologize to the victims and their families during the visit from July 24 to 30. Before leaving for Canada, the 85-year-old pope said in a daily address that he had been there to express his sorrow and solidarity for the peace of his soul. Delegations from the three communities to the Vatican have made it clear they will not be satisfied with a verbal apology. People want to know about the children who did not return home from these schools. For this there is a demand for unhindered access to church archives.

200 mass graves in a school:

The graves of more than 2000 unnamed children have been found in these schools since the Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Commission demanded an apology from the Pope on Canadian soil in 2015. In February 2021, 200 mass graves of unnamed children were found at a school in British Columbia. Documents found in church archives confirmed that the children belonged to three communities in Canada. The investigation confirmed sexual misconduct and atrocities with her.

It’s just a start:

This apology will validate our experiences, says George Arcand Jr., Grand Chief of the Confederacy of Treaty Six. It will also be an opportunity for the Church to improve relations with indigenous peoples around the world. But, the matter does not end here, in fact it is a beginning from which the Catholic Church must begin atonement for its acts.

Get some relief from pain:

Pope Francis will apologize for the first time on Monday in Maskoese, Alberta. Desmond Bull, head of the Louis Bull First Nation here, says an apology for child atrocities and trampling cultures will not solve the issue, although it will be a way to relieve the pain in the heart, which is tearing. People have been sitting for centuries.

More than 1.5 lakh children were forcibly admitted:

Between 1800 and 1990, more than half a million children from Native, Métis and Inuit communities were forcibly admitted to 139 residential Catholic Church schools across Canada. They were trained to assimilate Catholic customs. They would have been cut off from their native culture. They were not even allowed to speak their mother tongue. More than six thousand of these children were killed due to atrocities.
