0 Mansi and Manisha won gold, shuttlers won nine medals in Canada International Para Badminton

Indian Para Badminton players continued their stellar form by winning nine medals including two gold in Canada International Para Badminton. Defending world champion Mansi Joshi won all the medals in the round robin stage. She defeated Parul Parmar, Caroline Bergeron of France, Noriko Ito of Japan and Oksana Kojina of Ukraine.

In the final, she came back from one game to beat her opponent of Ukraine 21-18, 15- 21, 22-20. This is Joshi’s fourth title win this season. She also won bronze medals in mixed doubles SL3, SL5 along with Ruthik Raghupati. Manisha Ramdas won the gold medal in SU5 category.

The 17-year-old from Chennai defeated Akiko Sugino of Japan 27-25, 21-9 in the final. Paralympic gold medalist Pramod Bhagat had to be content with the silver medal, who was defeated by arch-rival Daniel Bethel 21-14, 9-21, 21-15. This is Bhagat’s second defeat at the hands of Bethel since the Tokyo Paralympics.
