Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting at Chilli Gram Panchayat in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. He also addressed panchayats across the country on the occasion of National Panchayat Day.

Once a government file used to run from Delhi, it used to take 2-3 weeks to reach Jammu and Kashmir. I am happy that today 500 kW solar power plant is implemented here within just 3 weeks, starts generating electricity.
New Jammu and Kashmir will write a new story of development in the coming 25 years of the elixir of independence.
Panchayat will emerge as an important link in the fulfillment of national resolutions.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that the goal of giving more powers to Panchayats is to make Panchayats the center of empowerment in the true sense. The increasing power of the Panchayats, the amount received by the Panchayats, should give new energy to the development of the villages.
This is also being taken care of. It is the effort of the government that the role of Panchayat should be more in planning and implementation of every project related to the development of the village.
With this, Panchayat will emerge as an important link in the achievement of national resolutions. This nectar of independence is going to be the golden period of India. This resolve is going to be proved by everyone’s efforts.
Will soon get a bridge linking Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla:
He further said, now the distance from Banihal Kanjigund Tunnel to Jammu and Srinagar has reduced by 2 hours. The country is also going to get an attractive arch bridge linking Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla soon. The Delhi-Amritsar-Katra highway is also going to reduce the distance from Delhi to the court of Maa Vaishno Devi.
Private investment of only 17 thousand crores happened in seven decades-
He further said, during the 7 decades of independence, private investment of only Rs 17,000 crore was made in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last two years, this figure has reached Rs 38,000 crore.
The schemes of the central government are now being implemented rapidly here, which is directly benefiting the villages of Jammu and Kashmir.
Be it electricity connection, water connection, toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jammu and Kashmir has got a big benefit. He has been freed from the fetters that were put at the feet of Valmiki Samaj for decades and decades. Today sons and daughters of every society are able to fulfill their dreams.
New dimensions of development were established in Kashmir in 2-3 years:
PM Modi said that the friends who did not get the benefit of reservation in Jammu and Kashmir for years are now also getting the benefit of reservation. In the last 2-3 years, new dimensions of development have been established in Jammu and Kashmir.
About two hundred and fifty laws of the center which were not implemented here. We implemented those laws to empower every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir. This time Panchayati Raj Day being celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir marks a big change.
Democracy reached the grassroots in Jammu and Kashmir:
He said that it is a matter of pride when democracy has reached the grass root in Jammu and Kashmir, then from here I am interacting with Panchayats across the country. Today many families have also got property cards of their houses in villages.
100 Jan Aushadhi Kendras will become a medium to provide cheap medicines, cheap surgical items to the poor and middle class of Jammu and Kashmir. Neither this land is new to me, nor am I new to you. I have been familiar with the nuances here for many years. Today is a big day to give impetus to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
